Re-roof permit rules in Tennessee cities
Tennessee issues no roofing permits; each city or county building department decides. Nashville and Chattanooga require one for a re-roof. Memphis and Shelby County do not, unless the decking is touched. This table says what each office's own page states, and says so when it states nothing.
